THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly skilled digital designer to lead the redesign of Insomniac.com, our festival properties template, and the Insomniac App.
This role will focus on visually stunning, interactive, and user-centered design while working closely with internal stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Marketing.
We are reimagining Insomniac’s digital ecosystem to better reflect the immersive, high-energy experiences of our events.
You’ll play a key role in crafting visually stunning and intuitive digital experiences that bring this vision to life.
This 6-month contract position requires strong visual design sensibility, fluency in UI/UX best practices, and the ability to create high-fidelity, interactive prototypes.
Experience in motion design or animation for micro-interactions, transitions, and immersive storytelling elements is strongly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and drive the end-to-end visual and interactive design process across web and mobile platformsDevelop scalable UI systems and design patterns, ensuring consistency and usability across Insomniac’s digital ecosystemCreate high-fidelity prototypes and interactive elements that enhance user engagementCollaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to align design strategy with business and user needsWork within responsive and adaptive design frameworks to create seamless experiences across all devicesEnsure all designs align with brand identity, accessibility best practices, and modern UX principlesLeverage animation and motion design to create interactive and immersive user experiencesDesign fluid micro-interactions and gesture-based navigation (swipes, taps, long presses) to enhance usability and engagement in the Insomniac AppOptimize in-app purchasing and ticketing flows, ensuring a seamless checkout experience
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in UI/UX, visual design, and interactive design for web and mobile applicationsAgency experience preferred, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality digital designs on tight timelinesExpertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools (Framer, ProtoPie, After Effects, etc.)Strong portfolio showcasing visually compelling interactive experiences, UI systems, and motion/animation workExperience designing for entertainment, music, or experiential brands is a plusAbility to work autonomously and collaboratively within cross-functional teamsWORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environmentsMust be able to adapt to various temperature & climatesMust be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlinesApplicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by Insomniac for a visa.
Pay Rate Range: $100.00/hr – $150.00/hr USD
