This is a face-to-face part time opportunity.

MUST be available to come to the main campus in Phoenix, AZ

This position is a part-time Teaching Assistant position.

Dates: 09/02/2025 - 12/14/2025

Course: Capstone Project I

The first capstone is a writing intensive course that provides students the opportunity to work in teams to tackle real world applied research and design projects in their chosen area of interest.

Students develop a project proposal, conduct a feasibility study, learn to protect intellectual property, develop teamwork skills, budgets, and a schedule for completing the project.

Students conduct extensive research, integrate information from multiple sources, and work with a mentor through multiple cycles of feedback and revisions.

Students use this course to further develop technical writing and business presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include equipping students with the required skill set, facilitating classroom discussions, assessing student performance and preparing students to be successful leaders in their chosen profession.

Other main responsibilities include the following:

  • Assists instruction with in-class activities, including proctoring examinations.
  • Observes students’ performance, and records relevant data to aid instructor in assessing progress
  • Coordinates study groups outside of class to tutor students on class material
  • May facilitate additional ad hoc lectures as a refresher to classroom formal lecture
  • Assists with grading assignments
  • Proctors occasional make up examinations/assignments
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
  • Qualifications:

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution on date of application submission.
  • Must have sufficient courses in Engineering
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
