The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR level, beginning in August 2026.
Primary responsibilities will include instruction of undergraduate courses such as Theory of Control Systems, Electrical Energy Conversion, Digital Systems, and Senior Design, with specific assignments based on the departmental needs and the candidate’s expertise.
Additional duties may include advising student teams, participating in recruiting and orientation events, and other departmental service activities.
This is a permanent, non-tenure track position with opportunities for promotion through the instructional faculty ranks.
The ECE Department at Ole Miss is a dynamic, student-centered program that offers ABET-accredited degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering at the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. levels.
It provides students with a distinctive blend of personalized instruction, rigorous academic preparation, and meaningful research opportunities.
With small class sizes and strong faculty-student engagement, the department fosters close mentorship and hands-on learning.
Research strengths include wireless communications, signal processing, antennas and computational electromagnetics, and computer engineering, often pursued through interdisciplinary collaborations that tackle cutting-edge challenges.

All candidates are required to have earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field before beginning this position.
Competitive candidates will have demonstrable teaching ability, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an energetic commitment to undergraduate education.
