Instructional Designer/Training Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trainer to support the INTAS program.
This position plays a key role in developing high-quality technical training for Australian military and civil customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with government training requirements, a strong technical background in air traffic control or surveillance systems, and the ability to execute and coordinate training initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop military-compliant training materials, including updating instructor guides, student manuals, job aids, and other content that satisfy applicable military standards and learning objectives.
+ Partner with subject-matter experts and stakeholders to assess training needs, define learning outcomes, and customize solutions for specific platforms and user groups.
+ Maintain and revise courseware for new functionality and parts, implementing updates, version control, and configuration management to ensure content reflects current standards.
+ Plan, coordinate, and deliver multi-component training projects by developing schedules, resource plans, and milestones; manage cross-functional tasks to ensure on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
+ Conduct iterative reviews by running review sessions, collecting reviewer feedback, and refining materials based on results.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve technical and instructional issues during development and review phases, escalating risks and implementing corrective actions to preserve schedule and quality.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in MadCap Flare, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Experience in technical writing and document control.
+ Knowledge of FAA compliance.
+ Expertise in training development and instruction.
+ Ability to write HTML templates, manage content, and develop instructional content.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ BA/BS degree in engineering, instructional design, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
+ MA/MS degree in engineering, instructional design, or a related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
+ 8+ years of direct experience in military, aerospace, or complex technology-based training systems.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
