Position Summary
Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Academic Technology, the Instructional Designer broadly supports faculty on the effective uses of academic technologies in teaching, learning, and scholarship and coordinates a range of training and initiatives supporting student success and academic excellence.
The position works with SF State instructors and others to support the redesign or creation of well-designed courses and engaging, accessible course content delivered in an effective manner using available technology and digital tools.
It works within an instructional design team and with colleagues across the Academic Technology (AT) unit to provide support to faculty, academic programs, and campus-wide instructional needs.
Activities include instructional design engagements, individual and group consultations, training/workshop development and delivery, instructional materials development, and user support.
In addition, this position provides technical project coordination and support for academic technology initiatives, which may include faculty development programming, online curriculum development, support for accessible instructional materials, and assessment support, and/or campus communications and outreach.
