Job description

Overview Job Title: Instructional Designer
Location: Remote (must work 9am–6pm PST; candidates in U.S., Canada, or South America only)
Pay: $40/hr (W2, DOE)
Duration: 6-month contract (40 hours/week; possible extension)
Introduction The Planet Group is seeking an Instructional Designer for a 6-month remote contract role.

This position will focus on creating engaging, high-quality video-based and eLearning content that supports organizational learning objectives.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of instructional design experience, is highly skilled in video editing and eLearning development, and thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Marketing, or related field
4+ years of experience in instructional design, eLearning development, or similar roles
Proven expertise in designing and developing instructional materials, including eLearning courses and training videos
Proficiency with Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro), and design platforms like Canva
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality deliverables
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines
Must be authorized to work in the U.S., Canada, or South America (W2 only)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications Experience with motion graphics and animation (Adobe After Effects)
Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly Docebo
Portfolio showcasing instructional design and video editing projects
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Design and develop engaging eLearning courses, video content, and instructional materials
Perform heavy video editing to deliver polished, professional learning content
Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and assess learning needs
Create storyboards, scripts, and design documentation for different learning modalities
Ensure all training materials align with brand standards and instructional best practices
Manage timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
Stay current on trends in instructional design, learning technology, and digital content creation
