**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and working collaboratively with the School of Information (UMSI) Human Resources team, the Instructional Support Program Coordinator plays a central role in coordinating the onboarding, training, and administrative processes that support the Course Assistant (CA) temporary appointment program at UMSI.

You will ensure a smooth experience for CAs and their supervisors by managing the CA lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to training, assignments, communication, and end-of-appointment transitions.

**Responsibilities***

+ Manage and record all Course Assistant (CA) assignments, including those hired through the IA process, and ensure HR receives updates on supervisor and appointment changes.
+ Communicate with UMSI HR on assignments, terminations, and compliance matters related to U-M policies and union contracts.
+ Provide clear time-reporting instructions for CAs supporting multiple courses or supervisors.
+ Partner with instructors to evaluate continued employment, inform CAs of changes, and guide them through end-of-year re-application processes.
+ Maintain a dedicated Canvas site and annual job postings to support CA communication, training, and recruitment.

**Required Qualifications***

+ At least two years of experience providing administrative, HR, or student services support.
+ Experienced in coordinating high-volume or cyclical processes while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
+ Organizational and detail-oriented approach to data entry, tracking, and recordkeeping.
+ Comfortable using tools such as Google Workspace and Canvas (or similar platforms) to support communication and collaboration.
+ Demonstrated ability to work effectively within hybrid teams and across diverse roles and perspectives.

**Modes of Work**

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.

Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.

This is a hybrid position, and you will coordinate your schedule with your supervisor in accordance with school policy.

You may be required to travel to multiple locations on and off campus.

The main office workspace for this position is located in the Leinweber Computer Science and Information Building.

Punctual and regular attendance is required.

You will be required to work during non-business hours and on weekends based on the requirements for your position.

**Additional Information**

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This is a two-year term-limited role at 87.5% FTE.

The position may be extended after the two years, depending on performance, funding, and/or availability of work.

**Salary Information**

The salary range for this position is $43,750 - $49,875 (equivalent to a full-time rate of $50,000 - $57,000).

Salary is determined by direct relevant experience and demonstrated past performance results while ensuring equity on our team.

**Union Affiliation**

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

**Background Screening**
