Job Description:
Applications to this pool will be utilized to fill part-time, non-tenure track, non-benefits eligible instructor positions as student demand dictates in the Department of Biological Sciences at Ohio University.
The ideal candidate will have a record of outstanding undergraduate teaching, especially in the planning and delivery of introductory biology lecture courses, as demonstrated by assessments of teaching effectiveness, participation in professional development programs on teaching practices, and experience with innovative practices in instructional design and technology.
Previous experience teaching and coordinating online programs is a plus but not required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in biology or related field by the time of appointment; a demonstrated commitment to outstanding undergraduate education; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English, at a native or near native level.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in biology or other closely related field; experience in online teaching and technology, experience in training and mentoring graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants.
