The Washington State University Elson S.
Floyd College of Medicine (WSU ESFCOM) is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible internal medicine physician for a full-time Outpatient Core Faculty position at the Internal Medicine Residency Program located in Everett, Washington.
Outpatient Core Faculty (OCF) are responsible for the education and supervision of residents in the WSU Internal Medicine Center (WSU IMC), our flagship primary care continuity clinic located at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett (PRMCE).
Ideal candidates will share alignment with our program’s mission and demonstrate a strong interest in medical education, service, and care for underserved populations.
The primary clinical duties for this position are precepting residents during primary care visits and providing direct primary care.
In addition, candidates should be prepared to engage, at minimum, in efforts regarding the following:
Curriculum development
Resident mentorship/coaching
Community outreach activities
Residency recruitment
Program accreditation
About WSU Internal Medicine Residency Program:
The WSU Internal Medicine Residency Program was established in 2021 as WSU ESFCOM’s inaugural residency program.
Our program is uniquely community-based yet urban-adjacent and committed to supporting careers in general internal medicine that provide care for rural and underserved communities throughout the state of Washington.
Our holistic residency selection process is intended to recruit residents of diverse backgrounds who have clearly demonstrated dedication to service within their community.
Our residents’ primary clinical site is Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, a 630-bed Level II Trauma Center, and additional rotation sites take place through partnerships with The Everett Clinic, Western Washington Medical Group, and the Veterans’ Administration, among others.
About WSU Internal Medicine Center:
WSU IMC is physically located at PRMCE, providing residents the opportunity to participate in the continuum of care for their patients between the acute care and outpatient settings.
The WSU IMC has tremendous multidisciplinary support from an in-house team comprised of medical assistants, registered nurses, nurse care managers, social workers, clinical pharmacists, integrated behavioral health, and IM/FM community preceptors.

Comprised of over 110,000 residents, Everett is a highly diverse community and the largest city in Snohomish County.

The incumbent will hold a continuous career-track appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor within the Department of Medical Education and Clinical Sciences within the Elson S.
Floyd College of Medicine. Consideration of rank at Associate Professor or Professor will be commensurate with candidate qualifications and in alignment with department promotion guidelines.
Required Qualifications for All Candidates:
Unrestricted WA State Medical License or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Board-eligible/Board-certified in Internal Medicine.
Current WA DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to employment.
Must have, or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards, and ability to travel for work purposes.
Required Qualifications at Associate Rank:
Current or previous appointment at the Associate rank or equivalent at a post-secondary institution; OR experience determined to be equivalent.
Record of accomplishments applicable to the sub-track in teaching, research, clinical, scholarship and/or service activities commensurate with school, college, and university standards for associate rank.
Required Qualifications at Professor Rank:
Current or previous appointment at the Professor rank or equivalent at a post-secondary institution; OR experience determined to be equivalent.

Annual Salary: The base salary for the Career-Track position is $257,000-$300,000 at 100% FTE.
This salary range is commensurate with qualifications and rank determination.
While serving as Core Faculty, this position may be eligible for an annually renewed administrative stipend of $8,500-$40,000 commensurate with assigned duties.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position.
Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
