Under the supervision of the Territory Manager, The IOM Technologist is responsible for conducting preoperative assessments, intraoperative monitoring, and post-operative reporting.
This role requires a deep understanding of neurophysiology and the ability to interpret data in real-time.
Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical history review and explanation of the neuromonitoring process.
Accurately apply recording electrodes according to standardized protocols.Equipment Setup and Calibration: Prepare and configure neuromonitoring equipment for optimal performance.
Implement troubleshooting procedures as needed.Intraoperative Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient's neurological status during surgical procedures.
Analyze electrophysiological data to identify potential neurological changes.
Collaborate with the surgical team to optimize patient care.Data Analysis and Interpretation: Interpret complex waveforms and patterns to detect abnormalities.
Correlate findings with surgical events and patient conditions, and communicate with appropriate staff.Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all monitoring activities, including patient information, equipment settings, waveforms, and clinical observations.Quality Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.Professional Development: Participate in continuing education programs to stay updated on the latest advancements in neuromonitoring.
