IT - Medicaid - Senior Developer

Montgomery, AL

12+ Months of Contract

 

Position Description

The Full Stack Developer will work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.

These solutions must align with business and IT strategies while complying with organizational architectural standards.

This role is involved in the full systems development life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget.

The developer will also make recommendations for new code development or the reuse of existing code.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Participation in component and data architecture design

  • Performance monitoring and optimization

  • Product evaluation and buy vs.

    Build recommendations

  • Contribution to system analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and integration efforts

  • Strong collaboration and communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit and define data requirements through interviews, workshops, process descriptions, use cases, and workflow analysis

  • Design and develop REST API services by creating Controllers, Service Interfaces, and Interface Implementations

  • Participate in the ongoing development and support of production systems

  • Develop automated tests for regression and unit testing

  • Provide technical mentoring and guidance to team members

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new Internet tools and applications

  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency

  • Ensure solutions are designed with scalability, performance, and maintainability in mind


 

Required Skills

  • Full Stack Development with strong SQL development skills

  • Proficiency in:

    • C#

    • JavaScript

    • HTML / CSS

    • MVC Framework

    • SQL Development



  • Experience with SQL databases including:

    • SSIS

    • Azure Data Factory (Azure Cloud)

    • Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, Functions, T-SQL

    • Indexing, Cursors, Performance Tuning, SQL Profiler

    • Complex SQL Queries




 

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of IIS Administration

  • Experience with multiple JavaScript frameworks

  • IBM SoftwareAG webMethods

  • InRules

  • SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)

  • MS Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps


 

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience in .NET and SQL development with a strong Agile background

  • Hands-on experience across all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Ability to document code and adhere to project methodology standards

  • 5+ years of experience creating: Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, Functions, T-SQL, Indexes, and performance-tuned SQL solutions


 

Experience Preferred

  • 7+ years of experience with Agile Process Development

  • Prior experience in:

    • State Government

    • Medicaid / CHIP programs

    • DHR business area or healthcare industry



  • Certifications in relevant technologies


 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

  • Equivalent work experience will be considered
