Run and manage multiple complex projects under the umbrella of a defined program and take responsibility for their delivery using formal program management techniques as appropriateEnsure that program executive sponsorship, governance, organizational structure, scope, objectives and success criteria are establishedCollaborate with appropriate stakeholders (Business/Product Owners, IT) to outline the program approach, sequencing of work and resourcing necessary to execute effectivelyFacilitate the business and product owner decisioning process, as necessaryEstablish and facilitate Program Steering Committee and Program Governance meetings as appropriateManage project dependencies across and related to the program ensuring delivery alignmentDrive delivery of projects within the program with predictable consistency and efficiency with focus on achieving expected resultsManage program scope and ensure proper change governance is implementedIdentify and manage program level issues/risks.
Create actionable mitigation strategies that will increase delivery confidence and avoid delays that could adversely affect program successActively manage program communications and relationships with program stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including the Executive ManagementEnsure proper governance to ensure included projects are delivered on time, meet the business & technical requirements, and delivered within the agreed budgetManage, monitor and report progress against milestones and budgets, ensuring consistent and transparent communications are provided to Management and Executive LeadershipManage program change management and training efforts to ensure operational impacts are minimizedAssist with vendor (Systems Integrator, Software, other) relationship managementProvide leadership, coaching and guidance to project managers, resource managers and product owners by building and motivating the team to meet project goals, adhering to their assigned responsibilities and project milestonesCreate and manage a program culture of transparency and accountabilityEstablish and maintain effective working relationships and setting expectations with all stakeholders and act as the key point of contact for the projectAny additional duties and responsibilities that may be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the roleSuccessful candidates will possess the following skills/capabilities:
Educated to bachelor's degree level, preferably in IT or similar field10 + years of experience in successfully managing the delivering of IT Solutions in Applications delivery and Transformation projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally in a global Finance/Insurance or regulated industryAble to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitationAbility to lead and direct the project under a unified project lens without compromising business outcomes and priority constraintsAbility to work in complex organization structures and tenaciously forge a path for delivery resulting in deliveryExcellent communication skills, strong experience in managing the diverging interests of various stakeholdersProven ability to create meaningful reports and summarize project health status for stakeholder presentationsProven ability to manage and track project costs and budgets to agreed baselinesAbility to drive a mixture of functional and geographic workstreams and co-ordinate step change delivery to the business in a unified wayConsulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing A self-motivated individual able to work with varying organizational and geographic styles to the end goal of unifying and standardizing the delivery culture and capabilityFluent spoken and written EnglishWillingness to travel internationally
