Looking for skilled manual machinists with Tool Maker / Tool & Die / Fixture build experience.

Join an exciting team designing, building, and repairing jigs and fixtures as well as providing shop support in many different ways.

Work on CNC, manual mills, lathes, jig bore, surface and rotary grinders, saws, drill press, ProtoTRAK mills, CNC Haas Mills, CNC Lathes, Wire and Sinker EDM’s, and heat treat ovens.

Weld and fabrication as well as CAD/CAM experience a plus!

**Job Description**

**What you'll do:**

• Interpret drawings, sketches, models, specifications, work sheets, and related documents.
• Make standard and special jigs, fixtures, gages, tools, assemblies, etc.
• Set up, program, and operate a variety of NC and Conventional machines such as engine and precision lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders, saws, jig borer, etc.
• Application of standard tool room facilities such as layout tables, comparators, microscopes, measuring devices, etc.

**What you'll bring:**

Extensive experience in four or more of the following categories of machines or processes: Lathes, mills, operator-controlled precision grinding, drills, heat treat or cutter grind with the ability to hold close tolerances (+ or - .0002).

**Recruitment Testing process:**

First is an online computer assessment from Tooling U that typically takes 2 ½ hours to complete.

This would be done onsite at the GE in Greenville, SC.

This would need to be scheduled sometime between 7am-6pm.

If you _pass the online assessment_ , then there is a 40-hour practical test.

For this test, we provide you with two drawings, two pieces of material, a test toolbox with appropriate tools as well as access to manual equipment to produce the two parts (lathe/mill/grinder/etc.).

You have 40 hours to produce the two pieces.

+ We are fairly flexible on hours; you can schedule any time between 7am – 11pm to work 8 hours per day.

We would bring you in as a contract worker and pay you for your time in the shop.

Once you complete the parts, we measure them on the CMM and do additional manual measurements.

If you pass the practical you will be in the final stage, pending additional interviews before an offer could potentially be presented to you.

We understand that the online and practical assessments are involved and take time but wanted to make you aware of the process at the application stage.

**Pay Rate:** The pay for this position is $35.191 - $37.011.

This position is also eligible for [shift premium when you work on an off shift i.e. 2nd or 3rd shift.

Plus $1.00 USD an hour on top of base pay.
