**Description**

SAIC has an immediate opening for an analyst to provide onsite support to the Joint Staff, J-7, Joint Education and Doctrine Division (JEDD), in Suffolk, VA.

As SAIC’s onsite representative, the analyst will work with Joint Staff action officers (AOs) to plan and execute the JEDD mission.

This position supports the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) force development and readiness pillars and contributes to the development of joint doctrine for the United States Armed Forces.

The analyst will operate independently, yet integrate quickly and smoothly into a mature, diverse team of senior military officers and government civilians.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential.

The analyst will immediately be required to organize and execute complex staff actions.

The analyst will:

+ Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support for various organizational processes, meetings and conferences organized by military and government employees, including development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, project meetings, weekly doctrine meetings, and Joint Working Groups (JWGs)
+ Manage JWGs at SAIC’s Arlington, VA facilities or at the Joint Staff facility in Suffolk; usually 2 JWGs per month.

Travel to Arlington, VA, anticipated to be up to 5 times per year
+ Maintain visibility on joint publications in revision in coordination with the editorial team Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on the status of joint publications under development to JEDD
+ Act as a point of contact for the Joint Doctrine Development community regarding doctrine process improvements and management
+ Communicate with IT team on improvements and updates for the doctrine websites, to include tracking weekly updates
+ Provide back-up help desk support for doctrine websites and applications

**Qualifications**

+ Active DoD Secret Clearance
+ 2 or more years of Department of Defense experience
+ Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience
+ Experience developing or, knowledge of, joint or Service doctrine or in the development and promulgation of joint or Service policy and plans is a plus
+ Experience writing or editing documents for publication is a plus
