Job Description

The Junior Port Engineer works for and with Port Engineers and Maintenance Engineers in the management of maintenance and repairs to dredging division’s equipment.

Essential Job Functions

●Assist, Port Engineer in all duties and responsibilities

●Assist in preparing and submitting maintenance and capital budgets for assigned equipment

  • Assist in preparing specifications, scheduling, and management of equipment repair periods for equipment such as boats, barges, industrial barges and dredges, and/or land base heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, dozers and marsh buggies
  • ●Frequent equipment and jobsite visits and inspections

    ●Perform other duties as assigned by Port Engineer or Maintenance Engineers

    Qualifications

    ●3+ years of experience in related field, Marine, offshore or heavy industrial background preferred

    ●Associate degree or higher in a marine or engineering discipline preferred

    ●Proficient skills in AutoCAD a plus

    ●Proficient skills in standard office software packages

    ●Ability to work a flexible schedule, additional hours as needed

    Required Certifications or Licenses

    ●Valid Driver’s license

    Physical Requirements

    ●Must be willing to successfully complete a post-offer physical, drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record check

    ●Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels

    ●Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and parts, up to 50 lbs.
