Job description

Schedule: Regular shift (Mon–Fri), 40 hrs/week
Work Setup: Onsite
Role OverviewSupport an applications lab by performing preventive/corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations on complex equipment.

Partner closely with Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering on R&D builds, customer demos/commits, and prototype installs.

This role may include elements of field and direct customer support.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations on lab equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic, fluidic, and vacuum systems.
  • Install and support prototype equipment; develop procedures and documentation where none exist.
  • Work safely with hazardous gases and liquids using required PPE, which may include APR (Air Purifying Respirator) and/or SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus).
  • Collaborate with Process Development, Hardware, and Software Engineering on R&D activities and customer demonstrations.
  • Provide clear, proactive communication to align priorities across dynamic and routine tasks.
  • Train Field Service Engineers, Engineering Technicians, and/or Process Engineers as needed.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites when issues require onsite support.
Skills & Requirements
  • Hands-on experience in an R&D/cleanroom environment performing maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations.
  • Proficient with hand tools and electronic test equipment for maintenance, repair, and assembly.
  • Comfortable wearing cleanroom attire and required PPE/respiratory protection.
  • Strong troubleshooting of electrical/electro-mechanical, fluidic, and vacuum systems.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and priority management.
Plus (Preferred):
  • Semiconductor industry experience.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 2+ years of related experience; or
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent military training and 4+ years of relevant experience; or
  • Equivalent work experience.
