Job description

We are partnered with a leading Architecture & Engineering consulting firm located in Raleigh, NC, specializing in innovative and sustainable solutions for land development, infrastructure, and site design projects.

Their team is passionate about creating communities, shaping the built environment, and delivering excellence to our public and private sector clients.

They are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our growing Land Development team.

Position Summary


As a Civil Engineering Project Manager – Land Development, you will lead the planning, design, and permitting of site development and infrastructure projects throughout the Triangle and beyond.

This role requires strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to effectively coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities




  • Manage all phases of civil engineering land development projects from concept through construction


  • Serve as the primary client contact and maintain strong client relationships


  • Prepare and oversee site plans, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion control designs


  • Coordinate with architects, planners, surveyors, environmental consultants, and other disciplines


  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements


  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff


  • Manage project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and resource allocation


  • Participate in business development, proposals, and client presentations


Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required)


  • PE license in North Carolina or ability to obtain within 6 months


  • 6+ years of relevant experience in site/civil land development engineering


  • Proven project management experience with commercial, residential, or mixed-use development


  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil design software


  • Strong understanding of local permitting processes in North Carolina


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


  • Ability to lead a project team and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience with stormwater modeling, hydrology, and utility design


  • Familiarity with NCDOT, City of Raleigh, Wake County, and surrounding municipalities


  • Experience with proposal writing and client development
