Fletcher Studio is an agile, close-knit team working to create satisfying and sustainable landscapes, urban spaces, and living infrastructures.

We believe design matters, and that people deserve to find value, meaning, and possibility in the places they encounter and occupy.

We work with city makers, communities, and other visionaries to realize evocative and appropriate concepts, designed and constructed to ensure social vitality and integrity.

We leverage technology to work faster and smarter—people, ideas, and culture drive our process.

About the role:

Fletcher Studio is seeking a Landscape Architect / Project Manager to help lead the coordination, documentation, and delivery of our design projects from concept through construction.

This role is ideal for someone with at least 8 years of experience who is confident managing people, timelines, and communication across teams—and who’s excited to deepen their technical and construction knowledge over time.

You’ll act as a key connector between our design staff, clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring that projects move forward smoothly and that the design vision is realized in built work.

This position is suited to someone with strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and a solid foundation in landscape architecture practice.

In the first three months you will:

  • Ensure that all drawings are accurate, comprehensive, and compliant with design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, ensuring clarity on next steps, deliverables, and responsibilities.
  • Assist with construction observation and coordination, helping track progress, identify issues, and communicate clearly with the project team.
  • Manage project schedules and task assignments to keep teams aligned and on time.
  • Track project budgets in collaboration with firm leadership and support contract compliance.

Over time you will:

  • Address any client and stakeholder concerns, ensuring clear communication and resolution of issues.
  • Take full ownership of project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
  • Guide team members in prioritizing work, resolving issues, and meeting deadlines.
  • Support quality control for documentation and help implement best practices across the studio.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to manage firm resources across multiple projects.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to designers on both project management and design process.
  • Grow into a leadership role in firm operations, helping shape our systems, culture, and delivery methods.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related design discipline (MLA, BLA, BSLA, MArch, or BArch).
  • 8+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture, urban design, or a related field.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills; confident managing people, timelines, and multiple workstreams.
  • A solid understanding of the design and construction process.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong organizational habits and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with construction processes and willingness to build technical knowledge over time.
  • Experience with California plant materials and construction standards is a plus.
  • Licensure (PLA) is a plus but not required—support for licensure is available.
