POSITION: ADJUNCT INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS INSTRUCTOR- Forsyth Campus

REPORTS TO: Dean of Business, Public Safety and Professional Services


RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned:


· Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus.

Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;

· Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
+ Classes are delivered in the following formats: Online, virtual, and face-to-face;


· Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;

· Administers and grades class examinations;

· Maintains records of student grades;

· Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;

· Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;

· Meets ALL required deadlines and mandatory training;

· Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Occupational Studies from a regionally accredited college or university.

Demonstrated competencies in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, electronic mail, and presentations (coursework, certifications, etc.).

Must have a minimum of three years appropriate work experience.


TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:


Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
Skill in presenting subject matter
Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
Effective oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of student information systems



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):

Teaching experience at a postsecondary level;

Experience in teaching online classes;

Microsoft Office Specialist certifications


NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies.

Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
