CNO Financial Group’s IT team is hiring a Lead Infrastructure Architect – Computing Technologies.
This role is a strategic technology leader with deep subject matter expertise in physical and virtual desktop computing.
This role serves as the Tier 4 escalation point, resolving complex issues beyond the scope of traditional IT support, and delivers white glove service to the executive leadership group (ELG).
Responsibilities include designing proactive, high-impact technology solutions, managing vendor relationships (., Dell, Lenovo), and aligning desktop computing strategies with broader business outcomes.
The ideal candidate will drive innovation in end-user experience, anticipate future needs, and collaborate directly with senior leadership to shape technology roadmaps.
As a Lead Infrastructure Architect – Computing Technologies, your responsibilities will include:
Designing and implementing strategies and roadmaps across the enterprise supporting various technologies residing within the Infrastructure portfolio
Developing a roadmap of the evolution of the infrastructure in-scope from current to future state.
Facilitating improved delivery of proposed solutions, by identification and documentation of technical and architecture technology requirements to be implemented by our team and third-party partners in a timely, cost effective, and integrated fashion.
Working with implementation teams to assess and review the architectural implementation of systems and projects to ensure conformance with defined architectural standards.
Documenting all architecture design and analysis work
Collaborating with business partners, software engineers, technology and operations leadership to advance business outcomes and architectural concerns.
Working with 3rd party vendors and the Managed Services team to develop and implement technology-enabled roadmaps.
Verifying compliance with all technical requirements.
Training and acting as a resource for other members of the Infrastructure architecture team as well as to peers in various IT areas
Resolving complex issues up to the executive level with urgency and precision and providing proactive troubleshooting and personalized service
The Lead Infrastructure Architect – Computing Technologies position is well-suited for you if you:
Demonstrate strong knowledge of physical and virtual computing and understand the latest developments & changes in market conditions in the industry.
Can translate business needs into solution architecture requirements by understanding the functions and capabilities of new technologies and estimating the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
Possess the technical ability to serve as subject matter expert, lead architect, and mentor to team members
Have strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork and facilitation.
Are a strong written and verbal communicator with good planning and organizational skills.
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related computing major required or equivalent experience
Typically, 8 years of experience designing and implementing infrastructure solutions in physical and virtual End User Computing
Prior vendor management experience
Candidate location in US-based Central or Eastern time zones

Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) have access to come into that office.
Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work Central or Eastern time zone hours.
All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically.
Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
