**Group Details**
We are looking for a Lead JavaScript Engineer to join us in building the HTML5-based UI for our global, market-leading trading platform.
You will be a highly skilled, hands-on engineer with an exceptional track record of delivery of complex software, specializing in Angular, TypeScript, Rx.js, and JavaScript, all of which we are using to build a unified UI for the whole of Tradeweb in a company-wide UI monorepo.
The monorepo contains both application and library code, and quality is essential.
We want to keep the monorepo as the best place to build, test, and collaborate on JavaScript code, and make constant improvements that can be applied across the whole platform.
As a self-starter, you will be able to take a complex problem and use your own engineering and debugging skills to dissect and analyze it, distilling a clear solution.
You will be able to proactively identify problems faced by our customers, and figure out creative technological solutions to these.
You will be able to lead others in solving difficult engineering problems and troubleshooting complex production issues faced by high-value clients.
As traders rely on our platform to trade and consume real-time data about thousands of financial products simultaneously, performance of our UI is critical.
Therefore, interest and experience in JavaScript and HTML5 application performance and optimization is important.
You will be keenly in touch with the JavaScript community and keeping an eye on the latest developments in ECMAScript, JS engines like V8, web browsers, and TypeScript.
Experience in applying automated testing e.g. unit testing, its benefits, and associated practices like TDD, on large-scale codebases is essential as it is key to our quality-first approach and culture of the team.
We are also doing some work with Node.js microservices - using Nest.js, with Mongo, Redis, and Docker and supporting technologies - and tightly-integrating them with our UI.
Though most Tradeweb server-side development is currently in C++, our goal is to have consistent practices and tooling across both the UI and server-side.
Tradeweb Technology jobs are fully remote.
The Tradeweb Technology hub is located in our Jersey City office which can be used for team meetings and collaboration efforts.
There may be days where travel to the Jersey City office is recommended for organizational off-sites.
