Job description

The T55 Project Engineering team has an opening for a Lead Project Engineer.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the interest, aptitude, and experience associated with the design, development, test and support of gas turbine engines for rotary-wing applications.

**Key Responsibilities:**

+ Lead the design, development and in-service support activity for a component, module or engine test through all aspects of the Integrated Product Delivery and Support (IPDS) process, on schedule, on budget and in compliance with all technical requirements.
+ Broad indirect span of control of approximately 10 full time equivalent engineers.
+ Cost account manager for assigned scope, including Earned Value Management System reporting.

Annual budgetary responsibility approximately $4M.
+ Expected to serve as the single point leader for the component, module or test assignments
+ Lead a diverse cross functional team to accomplish the scope
+ Escalate effectively with leadership and cross-functionally across the organization
+ Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
+ Bias toward creative thinking and innovation in product design and approach to everyday work
+ Implement design-to-cost and variation-reduction strategies
+ Promote and build strong team working relationships
+ Manage within very difficult resource constraints
+ Identify gaps and risks on behalf of the team
+ Balances workload of the team members
+ Monitor work of team members to recognize when they are “stuck” or “off track”
+ Leverages technical experts to review the technical work of the team
+ Leads trade studies and RCCA activities
+ Communicate project status with internal and external customers
+ Guide and develop early career engineers

**YOU MUST HAVE**

+ Must be a US Citizen
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
+ 8+ years’ engineering experience in design, development, and/or test of complex mechanical system.
