About the role:



  • We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our growing R&D team at Snapsheet.

  • This team is at the forefront of developing and delivering our new Snapsheet AI platform, which empowers customers to build and integrate AI features directly into their workflows.
  • The platform is designed to be highly configurable, enabling users to create their own AI tools—such as summarization and smart audit features—embedded within the broader Snapsheet ecosystem.
  • As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building both front-end and back-end features with a high standard of quality.
  • You’ll be expected to contribute to architecture discussions, perform thorough code reviews, and deliver production-ready code.
  • A major focus of this team includes working with large language models (LLMs)—both integrating and building on top of them—to power features like AI-driven chat interfaces for internal and external applications, and smart logic for auditing insurance estimates.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work on greenfield AI development within a product-driven environment, contributing to the technical foundation of Snapsheet’s next generation of intelligent insurance solutions.

What you’ll be doing:



  •   Expanding the platform’s offerings for providers  Breaking down API’s with a focus on performance and scalability  Continuous improvements to our tech stack, processes, and infrastructure Partnering with our other engineering teams to enhance configurability within our platform Partnering with the platform team to enable configurable feature flags  Collaborating with other engineers, product management and design to identify and solve complex problems Contributing to technical design processes and provide improvement suggestions and feedback Playing an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology Working in an agile environment and participating in weekly stand ups, retrospectives, etc.   Proactively re-evaluate scope, flag issues, and suggest alternatives Mentoring junior developers and contributing to development team best practices What we are looking for: BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field  5+ years of full-stack web development experience  At least 2 years of experience working with relational databases Exposure to front-end technologies and ability to contribute across the stack Strong debugging and problem-solving skills Strong technical communication skills; able to articulate complex ideas clearly Demonstrated experience solving scalability challenges and discussing them in depth Curious and proactive in understanding the systems and tools beyond surface-level frameworks Willingness to dive deep and gain expertise in at least one technical area Clear understanding of the product and business context behind their work Nice to have:  Experience working with large language models (LLMs), including high-level understanding of how they function and are integrated into applications Familiarity with building products or features on top of LLMs Our tech stack:  Frameworks: Ruby on Rails and React  Methodology: Agile  Infrastructure: MySQL, S3, Redis, Elasticsearch, RabbitMQ, Lambda, Docker, CloudFront   We’re Built to Grow With You – And That Starts With How We Support You At Snapsheet, we know that growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum—it’s fueled by the right support at the right time.

  • While this range serves as a guideline, your actual compensation will reflect your unique experience, skill set, and location.
