**Job Description Summary**

The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Impacts the team’s ability to achieve service, quality and timeliness of objectives.

The role is subject to operating policy objectives.

There is moderate autonomy within the role.

High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.

This role will have the opportunity to coordinate valuation methodologies for LEAP product enhancement studies (thrust growth, performance improvement, maintainability etc).This role is in the LEAP Systems Engineering group and will also have responsibility for the integration of the core design modules for technical insertion initiatives.

The role will support all LEAP powerplant fleets (1A/1B/1C) and will report to the NPI Integration Leader.

All work is likely to be at the pre-conceptual design phase and will require strong NPI experience with a preferred foundation in either HPC, HPT, CDN mechanical design or systems & preliminary design integration roles.

This role is the perfect opportunity to engage at the conceptual design phase to deliver strategic programs for the LEAP fleets.

This role is for a strong individual contributor with proven experience delivering NPI milestones and will serve as the senior mentor for the LEAP NPI systems team.

**Job Description**

**Roles and Responsibilities**

+ Conducts component and product integration.

All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability.

Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down.

Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.

Responsible for defining product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams.

Manages interface between components and execution organizations.Responsible for driving CTQ (Critical to Quality) / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.

Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
+ Requires specialized knowledge within the function.

Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
+ Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services.

Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
+ Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.

Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.

Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations.

Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
+ May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics.

May guide others to consider a different point of view.

**Required Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Engineering (Specific to Engine Systems)
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

+ Integrate collaboratively with diverse teams from multiple disciplinary functions such as thermal design, aero design, and systems design.
+ Create areas where technology advancements are needed and recommend approaches / programs to make those advancements.
+ Create innovative solutions that benefit the assigned hardware and overall module to meet broad design objectives.
+ In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work as well as mentor others
+ Communicate risks within their module and components to appropriate stakeholders to help drive to collective decisions on how best to proceed as a diverse team
