JOB TITLE:
Assistant Lecturer of Music (Music Theory) – University of Wyoming
JOB PURPOSE:
The Department of Music at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a fixed-term, rolling contract position in Music.
We seek candidates with expertise in teaching music theory, composition, and history, and who are committed to active participation in the service of our division, college, and university.
The successful applicant will also be encouraged to take on responsibilities aligned with their area of specialization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Teach music theory classes Develop and maintain undergraduate and graduate music theory curriculum Teach additional classes in history and composition.
Participate in service activities and responsibilities corresponding to rank MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching music theory at the university level.
Doctorate in Jazz Studies with an emphasis in composition.
Ability to teach other classes within the candidate’s area of expertise.
Doctorate preferred, ABD accepted with completion of degree by the start date.
WORK LOCATION:
On-campus: This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work on campus.
