The Department of Chemistry takes pride in high-quality coursework and student-centered research, led by award-winning faculty.
Currently, the department has about 300 students who are pursuing BS degrees in chemistry, BS degrees in biochemistry, or MS degrees in Chemistry.
Multiple certificate programs are also available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
This posting will establish and maintain a pool of part-time lecturers with experience teaching Chemistry or Biochemistry courses per semester for the Department of Chemistry in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver.
By submitting your application, you will become part of an applicant pool.
Candidates hired from this pool will fill temporary, non-tenure track positions and will teach no more than two courses per semester.
Appointments will be part-time (less than 50%) and will be made semester-by-semester, depending on the needs of the department and subject to budgetary approval.
The Chemistry department will contact you if there is an opening that suits your qualifications.
Teaching assignments vary and can be lectures and/or lab courses, depending on the student enrollment and needs.

**What you will do:**
The teaching load for this lecturer position is a maximum of two Chemistry or Biochemistry courses per semester.
The lecturer will teach the assigned course(s), hold office hours, and submit grades at the end of each semester accordingly.
**Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)**
_Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire._
+ MS in Chemistry or Biochemistry or a closely related field is required
+ Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching.
+ Experience in online or hybrid delivery.

+ **This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office/classroom, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences.** **Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.**
**Physical Requirements**
+ The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.

**Compensation and Benefits**
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $1,615 - 1808 per credit hour accordingly.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
