Job description

The Department of French and Italian has an occasional curricular need to appoint Lecturers in Italian to teach a range of courses in language and culture in a dynamic undergraduate program committed to innovation, excellence, and inclusivity, and accepts applications in advance in the event the occasion arises where such lecturers are needed.

Such positions would require teaching courses and/or course sections (including precepts), grading student work, and holding weekly office hours.

Any appointments and duty time are subject to enrollments and departmental need, and available position(s) are expected to begin September 1, 5, or January , 6.

Review of applications will begin July , 5, and continue until any available position(s) are filled.
Essential qualifications:
Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English, proven experience teaching Italian as a Foreign Language at the university level, and experience in program and curricular development is highly desirable.

Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program required; Ph.D. preferred.

Experience in culture-based instruction, integration of new technologies and curriculum development.

Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Italian as a Foreign Language and/or Linguistics, SLA or Applied Linguistics, although other fields will be considered.
