Job Summary

The Department of Management and Info Systems in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) at the University of North Georgia (UNG) invites applicants for the position of Lecturer to teach Management courses and Introduction to Business course sections beginning with the Fall 2025 semester.

The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses on multiple UNG campuses.


Responsibilities

  • Use innovative teaching and learning techniques to provide industry-relevant undergraduate management courses and sections of introduction to business course at the first-year level.

  • Engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business (e.g., connecting students to potential employers).

  • Participate as an active contributing member to the service activities of the college.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • Knowledge of teaching and learning practices
  • Knowledge of theoretical and applied concepts of business & management.
  • Passion for working with students to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Ability to demonstrate best practices of written and oral business communication
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team

  • Required Qualifications

  • An earned master's degree in an area with a primary focus on management, with at least 18 graduate hours in management or equivalent, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution, is required at the time of hire.
  • Recent substantive and significant industry experience relevant to basic management strategies.
  • Preference will be given to those applicants who have a record of excellent teaching and practice in the area of business & management, commitment to business education.

  • Preference will also be given to applicants with experience assisting students in career readiness activities such as resume preparation and job search strategies.
