    Position Overview

    The Ohio State University’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invites applications for a temporary faculty member within our Health Sciences and Health Information Systems division at the Lecturer rank.

    The primary responsibility of this position is the preparation and instruction of 1 credit of HIMS 5655: Health Care Data Base Administration, assisting the primary instructor.

    Teaching will take place during autumn semester 2025 (August 26 – December 18, 2025).

    Teaching will occur with students in the lab.

    The work assignments will be based on the curriculum of the accredited program and the teaching needs of the Division.

    This is an associated faculty position, non-tenure.

  • Present course material in conjunction with the primary instructor.
  • Be present in the lab to assist students with course assignments.
  • Meet regularly with the primary instructor, Program Director, Division Director, students if needed, and other parties as required.
  • Attend faculty meetings.
  • Conduct online sessions with students, if needed, via CarmenZoom.
  • Education and Experience Requirements

    : Bachelor's Degree

    : Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential

    Experience in management in Health Information Management, training, and mentoring direct reports in various positions in Health Information Management.

    Master’s Degree; teaching experience including a record of intentional teaching practice including (a) creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all learners, (b) using new techniques, activities and types of learning, (c) promoting open-minded exploration.
