Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance and availability of funding.
Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach assigned courses in the discipline.Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.Maintain a minimum of 1 office hour per week for each course taught.Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.May include instructional assignments involving field-based laboratories with snorkeling or from a boat.Click here to enter duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in Marine Science or closely related discipline with successful comparable experience and/or scholarship in the area of marine science, or any combination of education/training/experience that equates to this credential for purposes of providing instruction in the discipline.All minimum qualifications must be from a regionally accredited institution and met by the effective date of appointment.Desirable Qualifications
Teaching experience at the university level.Evidence of ability to teach effectively
