Position Title:Lecturer of Composition and Music Technology

Job Description:
The Department of Music and Theatre at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa seeks a dynamic and experienced Lecturer of Composition and Music Technology for a one-semester appointment, beginning 1/1/26.

The successful candidate will teach courses in creative digital music composition.


Responsibilities:

Teach two courses in music technology: Music 2460 Introduction to Creative Digital Music and Music 3460 Computer Music Programming Design.


Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.



Required Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in music or related discipline.
+ Expertise in composing with MIDI and digital audio software.



Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's degree or higher in music composition with an emphasis in computer music.
+ Demonstrated experience using Pro Tools Studio and Max 9 software.
+ Demonstrated technical knowledge of MIDI, digital audio, and programming techniques.
+ Demonstrated experience teaching in a multiple-workstation computer lab environment.
+ Demonstrated experience teaching non-music majors.
