Job Description Job Description About us: Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond.

Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module.

Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.

Role Overview: We are seeking a software engineer to focus on algorithm development for point cloud processing in production software.

This role will focus on driving CPU and memory optimizations across our LiDAR data path, ensuring efficient real-time processing as sensor capabilities and feature complexity continue to grow.

What you’ll do: Analyze, benchmark and implement point cloud processing algorithms to achieve CPU, memory, and latency targets.

Implement signal processing, detection, and lidar algorithms in C++ in production software and simulation platforms.

Translate floating-point models to fixed-point for optimal implementation on ARM processors and FPGAs Profile, triage, and root-cause complex performance issues in live sensor systems.

Participate in the team's development processes, including requirements and design documentation, test-plan generation and execution, peer design and code reviews, process feedback, and improvements What you’ll have: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of industry experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in software development and algorithm design.

Strong fundamentals in mathematics and excellent problem-solving skills.

Proven experience profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing embedded systems.

Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and show initiative in solving complex system-level problems.

Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions.

These ranges are subject to change in the future.

Depending on the position offered, equity, bonus, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, pre-tax commuter and health care/dependent care accounts, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and 11 paid holidays annually.
