USCG MWR Yorktown Swimming Pool
DUTIES :
Serves as a lifeguard for indoor pool work under the direction of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Aquatics Program Manager or MWR supervisor.
Employs safety rules for the protection of pool guests.
Responsible for life guarding guests in attendance at the assigned aquatics facility.
Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required.
Attending aquatics and/or safety training as directed.
Assists in maintaining pool and keeping all areas clean and free from any hazards.
Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures.
Tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules, and do not follow facility Standard Operating Procedures.
Patrons can be asked to leave the facility for not conforming to policy and rules.
Pool rules and regulations are posted in view for all patrons using the facility to review.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
M Minimum :
1.Must possess and maintain the following certifications: Lifeguarding, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer; Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and First Aid; (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e., Star Guard or Ellis).

Must be able to communicate in English (both verbally and in writing).

Persons must be at least 16 years old to apply.
