THE JOB

As a Part-time Line Cook, you will be responsible for setting the stage for an excellent guest experience by using your culinary techniques and providing high-quality food to guests from all over the world.

You will maintain House of Blues safety and sanitation standards, as well as follow health and safety guidelines and regulations.

You must adhere to all House of Blues policies


WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

+ Perform all opening and closing duties as applicable

+ Prepare kitchen equipment and set up a station for a shift

+ Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques.

+ Identify and safely use kitchen equipment.

+ Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service.

+ Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.

+ Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation.

+ Assist kitchen leadership and staff in the execution of service.

+ Maintain solid knowledge, understanding, and preparation of base sauces, stocks, and soups.

+ Organize and prioritize preparation of food items

+ Prepare food according to standardized recipes

+ Ensure proper size and weight of food portions

+ Coordinate food preparation with other kitchen staff

+ Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through the work area throughout the shift

+ Follow standard recipes regarding the presentation of food items

+ Prepare plate presentation according to standard recipes

+ Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and walk-in cooler

+ Ensure that kitchen area, including grill, oven, stoves, etc.

remain clean and free of hazards during shift

+ Keep the floor clean and free of food items, trash, or other obstacles

+ Ensure proper rotation of all food items, including the lifting/moving of food bins

+ Assist other Kitchen staff as needed

+ Maintain a clean and need appearance

+ Ensure to follow the HOB Punctuality/Attendance policy

+ Work as a team, and assist all guests' needs and inquiries.

Qualifications

Required:

+ Must be at least 18 years of age or older

+ High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

+ Must have and be able to maintain a Food Handler card

+ Knowledge of high-volume kitchen operations

+ Ability to inspect food spoilage and proper rotation

+ Kitchen sanitation and prep work knowledge

+ Ability to follow standardized recipes and plate presentation

+ Ability to maintain the pace of a high-volume kitchen

+ Proper sanitation knowledge

+ Knowledge of kitchen and restaurant operations

+ Attention to detail

+ Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.


Preferred

+ Expediting knowledge

+ Skills in the use of all kitchen equipment

+ Experienced Egg Cook


Physical Demands/Working Environment:

+ The working environment is fast-paced

+ Position requires extended periods of prolonged standing and working on your feet

+ Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
