Litigation Docketing Specialist Location
Anchorage, AK Stoel Rives LLP has an immediate opening for a Litigation Docketing Specialist in any of our offices.
This position assists attorneys with the docketing function.
Advanced knowledge of court statutory and procedural time periods is a must.
Responsibilities for docketing are directed by the Project Services Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Technical Information
Applies knowledge of codes, statutes, regulations and procedures related to the assigned practice area.
2.
Docketing
a.
Calculate statutory and procedural time periods to inform practitioners of deadlines.
b.
Assist attorneys and paralegals with civil procedures and court practices, maintain and distribute local, state, and federal rules/statutes and amendments, and provide rule-related informational memoranda, summaries, deadline reports, and other materials related to docketing.
3.
Docket Software Responsibilities
Learn and maintain complete knowledge of litigation docketing software program, train staff and practitioners in the use of the docket system, work with IT to implement software system updates, interface with the docket software manufacturer and resolve problems that occur and to assist in devising custom codes and procedures requested by practitioners to implement firm docketing policies.

Technical Knowledge
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
Must have related experience which demonstrates analytical and written research capabilities.
Must have prior experience with or be capable of rapidly understanding, interpreting and applying to various client circumstances the full range of codes, statutes and procedures related to the assigned practice area.
Knowledgeable of docketing, word processing and spreadsheet software in a Windows-based environment.
Physical and Mental Capabilities
Must be capable of operating a telephone, calculator, personal computer and printer and learning/using software required to successfully perform job functions, e.g., electronic mail; drafting correspondence and documents; proofreading for correct grammar, punctuation and spelling; and reading and interpreting legal correspondence, memoranda, documents, reference publications or reference books and technical manuals in printed form or on a computer screen.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a law firm required, preferably with docketing experience.
NORMAL WORK HOURS
This position is nonexempt and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Normal work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Working overtime and on holidays may be required and may be on short notice.

The pay range for this position is $57,000 - $95,000; however, the base compensation presented to a candidate may vary based on skills and overall experience.
This salary range is based on market location.
