Job Title: Localisation Project Manager I 

Duration: 12 Months (with possible extension)

Location: Austin, TX 78727 (Hybrid) 

 

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Localization Project Manager-I to oversee the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of localization projects for software UI features.

This role ensures the timely release of high-quality localized content while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and adherence to strict security and confidentiality standards.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal engineering, QA, and product teams, as well as external localization vendors, to ensure a seamless integration of localized assets into product releases.

 

Key Responsibilities




  • Plan and manage localization projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality goals are met.

  • Develop and maintain detailed localization requirement documents for engineering and development teams.

  • Oversee translation quality, review linguistic output, and drive continuous quality improvement.

  • Collaborate with Localization QA teams to design and execute in-context testing strategies to validate localized features.

  • Partner across localization, engineering, and content teams to develop and maintain glossaries, terminology databases, and style guides.

  • Track progress, report on project milestones, and provide visibility into project health throughout key phases.

  • Ensure all work complies with security, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.

  • Contribute to process improvements and scalability initiatives within the localization workflow.


 

Preferred Skillsets & Qualifications


  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the broader strategic picture and adapt in ambiguous situations.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with consumer technology ecosystems (hardware, software, and services) and how localized content integrates across them.

  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and experience collaborating with engineering and QA teams.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Localization, Linguistics, Project Management, or a related discipline preferred.

  • Experience with localization tools and translation management systems (TMS) is highly desirable.
