Job description

We are seeking experienced Low Voltage / Access Control Lead Project Technicians for long-term projects in the Monroe, LA region.

We are looking for self-motivated, reliable leaders who can manage service and special installation projects, work independently, and consistently deliver results.

Candidates should also be willing to support other structured cabling environments as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician.

  • Proven experience leading teams on multi-week projects.

  • Willingness and availability to travel (100% travel required).

  • Ability to work primarily nights, with flexibility for on-call, overnight, weekend, and overtime shifts.

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA).

  • Industry-specific certifications (BICSI, Systimax, Panduit, Belden, Corning) are a strong plus.

  • Proficient in reading blueprints, site maps, and technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of Cat5/Cat6 cabling, equipment installation (switches, bridges, Axis cameras).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to execute advanced diagnostics.

  • Comfortable working unsupervised and managing crews of 420 technicians.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; customer and contractor interaction required.

  • Knowledge of MDFs, closeouts, and conduit installation (preferred).

  • Ability to operate scissor lifts (19), work at heights, and in confined spaces.

  • Must have basic telecom tools, hand tools, PPE, and reliable transportation with insurance.

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the past 3 years).

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems in commercial/retail environments.

  • Run low-voltage cabling (including limited conduit work and drilling concrete walls).

  • Install cable support systems (j-hooks, racks, innerduct).

  • Conduct system testing to verify functionality and performance.

  • Assist with pre-installation design and planning of technical solutions.

  • Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and advanced problem-solving.

  • Maintain Wachters high standards of quality, safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
