Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group, has a new and exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Structured Cabling Technician.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling systems and other low voltage infrastructure in both new construction and existing facilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in low voltage installation, with a strong understanding of BICSI standards (Level 1 or Level 2 certification preferred).

Key Responsibilities:

+ Install and terminate network cables including Cat5e, Category 6 & 6A, coax.



+ Installation of Optical Fiber.



+ Install and configure network racks, trays, patch panels, cable management, and all other related equipment.



+ Able to interpret blueprints, floor plans, and diagrams.



+ Perform labeling and documentation of cable runs, terminations, and test results.



+ Use test equipment to validate cabling performance.



+ Support installation of additional low voltage systems including access control, CCTV, AV, and BAS.



+ Able to work independently or in a team environment.



+ Following all safety and quality standards.



+ Provide field support for SLV Technicians while meeting all project timelines.



+ Maintain clear and accurate job documentation including daily reports.



+ Able to serve as a direct contact when on-site and communicate project requirements/updates with General Contractors, customers and leadership team.



+ Strong attention to detail.



Qualifications:

+ Must be able to read and understand project drawings and details.



+ BICSI Installer Level 1 or 2 certification is a plus.



+ 2 – 4+ years of structured cabling and/or low voltage experience preferred.



+ Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.



+ Familiarity with digital reporting tools for labor and job costs.



+ Must be able to travel locally and occasionally out of town, including after-hours work.



+ Able to climb ladders, lift up to 75 pounds, and work in construction environments.



+ High school diploma or equivalent required.



+ Valid driver's license with clean driving record.



+ Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
