Job/Position Summary
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Cross-trained Operator III will provide manufacturing capability to the Quality Thermistor Inc.
line of products made in Albuquerque, NM.
Experience with chemical lab procedures, programming production equipment, sample preparation, final probe inspection and SAP data entry is required.
Short term travel to Boise, ID for training and certification is required.
ISO9100 level of audit review is needed.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Prepare metal oxides and other organic chemicals to be released for production.Support casting activities that include weigh, mix, cast and sort green tape.Mount silvered wafers on glass/wax for dicing into chips.Solder chips to wires for probe assembly and characterize with ware temperature test station.Maintain equipment in good working order, clean, monitor, preventive maintenance.Input data into control charts and report data.Follow all safety protocols, quality procedures, and work instructions. Understand technical measurement equipment and be trainable on specifics.Be responsible for producing data in a rapid, efficient, and quality manner.Follow work instructions, both verbal and written, including submitting formal documents. Maintain impeccable housekeeping in the laboratory and production work areas.Some physical requirements include walking, lifting 50 lbs, and pushing carts with samples.Other related duties as directed by management. Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
3 years of direct experience as an operator or technician.3 years of Process Technician I experience or equivalent.Direct experience with kiln operations is a plus.Direct experience with laboratory testing and equipment is a plus.
Reading, writing, and communicating in English is required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to track samples, perform tests, and organize data.
Use tests such as viscometer of sliver paint.
Knowledge of metrology tools such as micrometers, calipers, etc.Knowledge of laboratory equipment and protocols.Excellent computer skills to include email, Excel spreadsheet, and Word processing.Able to work independently and in team environments.
Demonstrated ability to manage own workload.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.Excellent interpersonal and technical communications skills.
Physical/Working Requirements
Able to comply with requirements for respirator usage.Ability to move, handle, and lift powder and equipment tooling.Extended periods of standing combined with sitting and walking.Must be able to go up and down steps.Manual dexterity.Precise and accurate use of analytical tools requiring good near vision.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Exposure to moderate noise levels and use of chemicals.
