Job Description:
This position provides general maintenance, including but not limited to: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, painting, doors, hardware, minor carpentry, pressure washing, roof maintenance, and other tasks related to the ongoing maintenance of Christian Brothers University's buildings and dormitories.
The position does require after-hours on-call availability on a rotation basis and/ or on an as-needed basis.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Works with the Director in expediting weekly maintenance and building care issues in an efficient and timely manner.Performs general maintenance of the buildings and equipment.
Accomplishes this by minor repair work, painting, carpentry, MPE maintenance, and repair.Assists in maintaining an inventory of all supplies and equipment.
In addition, purchases needed supplies and materials with approval of the Director.Provides general assistance as needed, including hauling and moving items.Assure the buildings and grounds are maintained in an acceptable condition.
Also includes the removal of snow at walkways and stairs.Attend job-related meetings and training sessions.Assist in facilitating any needed professional service calls.
These arrangements are made only with prior approval by the Director.Must have a current driver's license, no convictions for infractions involving drug or alcohol, and no more than three moving violations in the last three years.
Must have the ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.On-call availability for after-hours Work Requests/Emergencies

High school diploma or equivalentFive years experience in building maintenance performing advanced troubleshooting of HVAC systems and boiler operationsKnowledge of theory and skills in plumbing and electrical repairGood communication and social skillsAbility to follow written and verbal directions and read blue printsEPA certified in Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification programAbility to do repetitive bending, lifting (75 pounds), squatting and kneelingAbility to climb ladders and stairsAbility to work in enclosed spaces and at heights (30 feet)Good vision, correctable to 20/20 and good manual dexterity to operate necessary tools and equipment without modificationValid driver's license and ability to safely operate a motorized vehicle
