**Overview**

As a **Manager – Azure Data Engineering** , you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable data solutions on **Azure Cloud** , with a strong focus on **technical leadership** , **mentorship** , and **best practice enforcement** .
You will ensure architectural integrity, performance, and delivery quality, while guiding your team through complex client engagements and ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.

**Your Impact**

+ Provide technical leadership and direction across multiple Azure-based data engineering projects.
+ Lead and mentor data engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
+ Stay hands-on to review design and code, ensuring adherence to development standards, performance optimization, and best practices.
+ Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Data Factory and Databricks (PySpark).
+ Architect and optimize data lake and data warehouse solutions leveraging Delta Lake and Synapse Analytics (serverless).
+ Define and maintain data architecture frameworks to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
+ Drive problem-solving to remove technical and operational barriers throughout the lifecycle of client engagements.
+ Ensure all deliverables are of high quality by setting clear development standards, enforcing adherence, and participating in code reviews.
+ Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data scientists, and architects to translate business requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.
+ Oversee and optimize CI/CD, monitoring, and automation practices across teams.
+ Stay updated with emerging Azure ecosystem trends and continuously drive innovation and improvement across delivery teams.

**Qualifications**

**Skills & Experience**

+ 9+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, and analytics.
+ Proven track record providing technical direction and mentorship to data engineering teams.
+ Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Data Factory, Databricks (PySpark), and Delta Lake.
+ Solid experience with Synapse Analytics (serverless) for data querying, serving, and optimization.
+ In-depth understanding of data architecture, schema design, governance, and performance tuning in cloud environments.
+ Experience defining and enforcing coding standards, conducting code reviews, and driving engineering quality.
+ Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and infrastructure automation.
+ Advanced SQL and experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
+ Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to remove delivery barriers and ensure client success.
+ Strategic mindset with the ability to balance hands-on technical involvement and high-level leadership responsibilities.

**Set Yourself Apart With**

+ Experience integrating Databricks with other Azure services (Event Hub, Data Lake Storage, Logic Apps).
+ Familiarity with Delta Live Tables, data reliability, and observability frameworks.
+ Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
+ Experience driving data modernization and cloud migration initiatives in enterprise environments.

**This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) open to both permanent and contractor hires in Mexico, Colombia, and Costa Rica and** **and available only as a contractor position in Argentina and Peru.**

**Location & Travel Requirements**
**The selected candidate will lead a team primarily located in Argentina.

During the initial phase, monthly travel to Argentina will be required to engage with the team on-site and support alignment.

Over time, travel will occur on an as-needed basis, with frequency expected to reduce as the team becomes fully operational.
