Lead Applied Data Scientist, GenAI

As a Lead/Principal Data Scientist at AIG you will be serve a critical role in building and overseeing a team of highly productive data scientists tasked with the delivery of impactful enterprise level Generative AI Solutions.

We are seeking someone with extensive hands-on experience, as we are an applied data science team operating in an agile and production orientated environment.

Candidates who have only managerial, or architecture experience should not apply.

Your responsibilities include:

• Oversee the development and successful delivery of data science and generative AI solutions in accordance with the business requirements.
  
  Monitor solutions in production.

• Develop technical delivery plans and execute on those plans to deliver solutions on time.

• Mentor and oversee junior data scientists.

• Collaborate with cross functional teams that comprise product managers, engineers and business leaders.

• Build evaluation frameworks to measure LLMs efficacy, ground truth dataset quality, and guide product development roadmap

What is needed to be successful:

Required applied skills

• 7+ years of experience in a traditional data science role, preferably in NLP, working in an agile production orientated environment.

• 3+ years of experience managing teams of data scientists and or engineers.

• 2+ years of experience with building Generative AI Solutions (Prompt engineering, designing and building RAG frameworks, validation pipelines, observability and monitoring solutions)

• Preference will be given to candidates who have work experience on the Palantir platform or who can demonstrate certification.

• PHD or master’s in data sciences or master’s in computer science.

Required Experience

• Ability to work in a fast pasted high stakes environment.

• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within and across teams.

• Ability to act in a managerial as well as hands on experience.

• Highly technical and hands on leader.
