We're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join the Spectacles team!

What you’ll do:

+ Be responsible for Wireless Connectivity (BT, WLAN, Cellular) on Snap OS for AR devices
+ Hands on leadership of wireless connectivity SW feature development and performance optimization to improve user experience including call, voice quality, data, thermal/power, connectivity
+ Identify modem software performance gaps by analyzing system requirements, design, software implementation, issue analysis, and simulation of real world scenarios
+ Manage and mentor a high -performing team of developers, in a fast-paced environment
+ Drive the technical roadmap for the engineering team
+ Collaborate with Design, Product, and Engineering teams distributed across multiple offices

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

+ Ability to gather high level requirements and architect modular, scalable software solutions
+ Ability to craft scalable solutions in a resource constraint environment with due considerations for memory, power, thermal tradeoffs
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
+ Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
+ Ability to work with a geographically distributed team
+ Strong Software Engineering skills including design, programming (C or C++), debugging and testing is required
+ Experience with Cellular SW (Radio Interface Layer) or WLAN (Network manager) or Bluetooth
+ Understanding of network protocols such as (TCP/UDP/IP)
+ Having experience in SW development to support cellular carrier certification is a plus
+ Good understanding of OS concepts (heap/stack/threads/mutex/memory/scheduling) is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
+ 11+ years of industry experience developing solutions for resource constrained devices
+ 2+ years of experience leading or managing a technical team
+ Expert level knowledge of Wireless Connectivity (Bluetooth or WLAN or Cellular) and application frameworks built on Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Understanding of 3GPP Specifications related to 5G NR and LTE Data protocols
+ Identify modem software performance gaps by analyzing system requirements, design, software implementation, issue analysis, and simulation of real world scenarios
+ Understanding of WLAN, BT protocols.

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position.

These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $218,000-$326,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $195,000-$292,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
