Job description

What you need to know about this position:


+ The Hospital Coding & Clinical Documentation department focuses on complete, accurate and compliant documentation and coding.

+ This position will lead the business process for Hospital Coding Services, Clinical Documentation Improvement and Release of Information.

Reporting to the Director - System Health Information, Coding & Clinical Documentation, this position is responsible for managing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the hospital inpatient and outpatient coding staff, documentation improvement staff and coding auditors.

+ The annualized salary range for this position is between $84,406 - $126,589.

Individual compensation is determined for this position through years of directly relevant experience.

The base pay compensation is only a portion of the total rewards package and a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.



+ This position is a salaried/exempt position and will have general hours of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm ET though flexible hours may be necessary to meet the needs of our business and patients.



+ This position is eligible for partial remote work - meaning travel to onsite (in Columbus, IN) is required multiple times per year.




What the successful candidate will bring to this position:


+ Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management/Administration or related field

+ At least 5 years experience in Health Information Management department with at least 3 years in leadership

+ Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)

+ Certified Coding Specialist Certifications (CCS)

+ Additional priority given to candidates who have:

+ Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS)

+ Epic system experience

+ 3M coding & reimbursement

+ Privacy regulation knowledge


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear, required to sit, occasionally required to stand, walk, uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms; the employee must occasionally lift and/more up to 10lbs.
