The M&A Integration and Separation team is a part of the Corporate Development organization within American Express.

The team oversees strategically integrating acquired assets and separating parts of the company undergoing divestiture.

This includes designing the integration/separation strategy in collaboration with the BU sponsor and functional experts, securing executive approval and funding, executing against plans in partnership with the target company/buyer and having overall accountability for the end-to-end program and outcome.

The team also serves as an advisor on any portfolio conversion and joint venture transactions.
The manager will mobilize and lead functional and business teams through M&A integration/separation planning and execution, while also contributing to ongoing development of American Express’ integration/separation infrastructure and process improvements.

The role requires effective collaboration with Senior Leaders and Business Partners across American Express as well as with key target company/buyer contacts for strategy development and execution of effective ideation, rigorous project management and governance.
**In this role you will:**
+ Partner with business groups to understand, outline, and influence business strategy and its implication on integration/separation
+ Facilitate business and functional teams to create strategic approaches to complex projects with effective plans that capture maximum value from each transaction
+ Drive project progress by managing cross-functional teams, overcoming obstacles/risks, developing strategic recommendations, and ensuring deliverables are optimally executed
+ Lead M&A project management including hosting cross functional project calls, developing project plans and timelines, tracking deliverables, escalating risks and updating leadership teams
+ Execute process mapping exercises to document dependencies across the cross functional teams; connect the dots to develop a cohesive project approach
+ Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders to achieve results and enact value identified in deal rationale
+ Create meeting content and presentations, including updates to senior business leaders
**Minimum qualifications:**
+ Strategic thinker capable of focusing on the big picture while maintaining rigorous attention to detail
+ Problem-solver who operates with a sense of urgency in an often-ambiguous environment
+ Excellent project manager with a track record of successfully delivering results on complex, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives
+ Exceptional written/verbal communication skills and influencing abilities with the composure required to effectively communicate with senior leaders
+ Strong analytical rigor, complex problem solving and critical thinking abilities
+ 5 years in project management and/or corporate strategy
+ Bachelor’s Degree, or comparable experience and/or other certifications
+ Ability to travel up to 25%
**Qualifications**
Salary Range: $103,750.00 to $174,750.00 annually bonus benefits
