ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of Instructional Teams, reporting to the Director of Student Experience and Success, is responsible for overseeing the learner experience while supporting the instructional staff in delivering high-quality instruction.

The role supports student progress and drives retention by monitoring cohort health metrics, managing transfers and dismissals, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

The Manager of Instructional Teams provides ongoing coaching and evaluation for instructors, supervises Learner Experience Managers and the Manager of Curriculum, and partners with HR and recruiting on faculty hiring, onboarding, and staffing.

By managing instructional resources, maintaining SOPs, and supporting curriculum updates, the Manager of Instructional Teams ensures academic operations run efficiently and consistently.

This leadership role plays a critical part in strengthening teaching effectiveness, supporting instructional staff, and enhancing the overall student experience.


This role is full-time and remote.

Please note: the ability to flex hours is critical in supporting instructional team members and will be an expectation of the person in this role.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


+ Ensure an exceptional student experience by supporting student progress, accessibility, and overall success


+ Oversee student experience by monitoring progress and retention, implementing strategies for improvement

+ Manage student transfers, withdrawals, and dismissals in accordance with company policies

+ Serve as a point of escalation for student concerns and resolutions

+ Develop student accommodation plans, ensuring alignment of practices with ADA requirements

+ Monitor cohort health metrics, analyzing both qualitative and quantitative feedback to measure overall student experience

+ Design and implement strategies to improve NPS, retention, and instructional quality


+ Lead and support instructional staff to strengthen teaching effectiveness, ensure compliance, and maintain high instructional quality


+ Evaluate instructors on a regular cadence, providing coaching and feedback for continuous improvement

+ Collaborate with recruiting and human resources on hiring, onboarding, and management of instructional team members

+ Oversee cohort staffing and coverage, ensuring compliance with regulations, including adequate substitute support

+ Supervise a team of Learner Experience Managers, supporting their day-to-day operations


+ Oversee program alignment, instructional delivery, and operational effectiveness to ensure consistency and quality across all cohorts


+ Liaise between Finance and Learner Experience teams to improve retention outcomes

+ Collaborate with the curriculum team to update courses with new iterations based on learner and staff feedback

+ Supervise the Manager of Curriculum, aligning tasks with student needs

+ Collaborate with Enrollment and Career Success teams to ensure seamless student transitions

+ Manage instructional costs by monitoring resource and staffing allocations

+ Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for instructional teams and develop additional SOPs when needed



QUALIFICATIONS

You're a great candidate if you have:


+ 1 year of experience in a technical field- web development, data analytics, cybersecurity, or teaching technology

+ Proficient in using learning management systems, electronic resources, and emerging academic technologies

+ 2+ years of experience in education, teaching, instructional coaching, academic operations, or learning and development, specifically supporting instructors or trainers to drive learner success, managing projects, and hiring new team members

+ Bachelor's degree required.

Master's Degree preferred

+ Experience with onboarding and building effective teams

+ Thrive in an ever-changing environment and can effectively lead a team through changes

+ Experience working remotely and teaching or training in an online environment

+ Strong sense of ownership and a whatever-it-takes attitude

+ A strong growth mindset

+ Project management and organizational skills

+ Communication skills (verbal and written), presentation skills, and computer skills

+ Ability to maintain confidentiality of information



COMPENSATION

The expected compensation for this role is $80,000 to $85,000 OTE plus benefits.

Final offer amounts will be determined based on a candidate’s individual experience, skills, and qualifications.
