Amazon Web Services is looking for a Manager, Procurement Operations to help build a scalable, predictive, and prescriptive supply chain for our AIS Power and Cooling organization.

You will be part of the AIS Power and Cooling Program Management team working with Category Managers, Supply Managers, Materials Managers, Project and Constructions Managers, Finance, and other partner teams to achieve our goals.

This role requires an individual with excellent knowledge of supply chain, procurement processes and tools and systems used in the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process in a fast paced ever changing environment.

You will be responsible for managing a team of highly talented and motivated individuals, drive scalability in the Procurement Operations function, improve our automation tools and systems, and use metrics and KPIs to drive performance improvement and minimize supply chain risks.

Data-driven decision-making is at the core of Amazon’s culture.

You will own building solutions and administering procurement risk and compliance management that enable senior leaders to make critical business decisions.


Key job responsibilities
Manager of Procurement Operations is responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process, ensuring that goods and services are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining quality standards and compliance with global and local regulations.

This role involves people management, cross functional collaboration for strategic planning and risk management, process standardization and automation, metrics to drive performance improvement and, continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools and systems.


Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and payment for goods and services
- Lead and manage a talented team of procurement professionals
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations
- Optimize procurement processes and workflows for efficiency and effectiveness
- Identifying and assessing potential risks associated with procurement activities and develop a comprehensive risk mitigation plan
- Track key procurement metrics and KPIs to measure performance
- Analyze procurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Develop a comprehensive execution strategy for change management across P2P process
- Prepare reports for management and stakeholders
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Required Travel: 10%

About the team
The Procurement Operations team is responsible for onboarding new vendors, soliciting quotes from external vendors through the standard RFx process, compiling quotes to prepare a total cost of ownership summary for finance and other stakeholders, issue Purchase Orders, manage vendor invoice, and manage change orders driven by scope changes throughout the product lifecycle.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field
- 10+ years experience in procurement or supply chain management in a complex and fast paced environment
- 3+ years experience managing people with strong experience in coaching and mentoring for career development
- 3+ years experience in process improvement, data, analytics, and analytical tools such as Excel, Smartsheet, SQL, Quicksight, Tableau etc.
- 3+ years experience in driving process automation and development of integrated procurement tools and systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- MBA or advanced degree in engineering or other quantitative disciplines
- Advanced experience in program, project, or product management
- Advanced experience in supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, or quality
- Ability to influence cross functionally across engineering, finance, and other internal or external partners
- Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems
- Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate cross functionally
- Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment
- Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and ability to meeting deadlines
