Overview


Senior Marketing Specialist


UnityPoint Health - Waterloo, IA


Full-time, Monday-Friday Daytime hours (Onsite work 4 days per week with the ability to work remotely 1 day per week)

Responsibilities


Define comprehensive communications and marketing strategies that support UnityPoint Health’s mission and vision.

Provide leadership, consultation and expertise in one or more key functional areas of marketing, public relations and/or communications:




  • Media relations




  • Public relations




  • Special events




  • Marketing




  • Internal communications




  • Provide assistance with and develop communication plans, evaluation methods and creative direction.




  • Build effective relationships with the media and/or community contacts and internal stakeholders.




  • Work with local departments on activities to achieve business and market goals.




  • Contribute to the successful creation of marketing campaigns.




  • Coordinate community special events, programs and seminars.




  • Assist with projects that support communications and marketing efforts.




  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.




  • Adhere to all UnityPoint Health personnel policies and procedures and safety guidelines.




  • Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.




  • Perform other duties as assigned.




Qualifications


Qualifications/Experience:




  • Requires internship experience in a related field or experience in a similar field.




  • 5 or more years of experience in marketing or public relations preferred.




  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.




  • Demonstrated creative ability with regard to shooting and/or writing, promotions, advertising along with strong editing skills.




  • Knowledge of current trends and techniques in marketing, public relations, media relations, advertising and social media.




  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, and Outlook.




  • Skilled in managing multiple projects for delivery in a timely manner and within the fiscal budget.




  • Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.




  • Excellent academic credentials with a track record of professional accomplishments, which demonstrate superior performance, leadership and vision.




  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications.




  • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.




  • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.




Education:



  • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing preferred.
