Job description

Substitute Library Assistant, Topsfield Town Library (Topsfield)

Topsfield Town Library is seeking a friendly, easygoing person to join our team as an on-call Substitute Library Assistant.

Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are a must.

This position entails working on an as-needed basis at the customer service desks in the library, primarily in the circulation department and in the children’s room.

Desk duties include, but are not limited to, checking materials in and out to patrons, registering new patrons, and assisting patrons both in-person and on the phone.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have familiarity using on-line library catalogs and databases.

Intermediate web browsing and Microsoft Office skills are required.

Must have the ability to perform some physical tasks, including lifting several books at once, retrieving items from overhead or floor level shelves, pushing carts, and sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

Availability to work evenings and Saturdays is also required.

Must pass CORI check to be eligible for employment.
