**REYNOLDS AMERICAN has an exciting opportunity for a Master Scientist Epidemiology / Modelling in Winston-Salem, NC.**

The Master Scientist will provide scientific leadership in the development of integrated evidence strategies and the generation of real-world evidence to support regulatory submissions and demonstrate public health impact.

This role will lead high-impact bold observational studies, employing a wide range of epidemiological methodologies, to address evidentiary needs for current and future market products.

A key responsibility of this position is the design and execution of epidemiology studies, population modeling and forecasting initiatives to inform regulatory strategies and assess the population-level impact of products.

The role requires deep expertise in epidemiology, quantitative modeling, and real-world data analytics, to generate insights that support the organization’s tobacco harm reduction vision and broader public health goals.

This role will participate in and lead cross-functional collaborations and build relationships with internal and external partners to influence and drive alignment on regulatory science strategy.

Further, this role will bring ingenuity and creativity to independently develop and recommend solutions to complex problems.

This person will maintain high scientific standards and integrity, while adhering to all applicable regulations and procedures.

This position requires strong technical, analytical, project management, and communication skills.

A strong background in preclinical, clinical, social science, epidemiology, public health, pharmacology, and/or toxicology is highly desired.

**Your key responsabilities will include:**

+ Collaborate and/or lead the development and implementation of bold high impact science for our products lifecycle, including developing protocols, analysis plans, statistical analyses, and interpretation of findings

+ Lead the modeling program by collecting and analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to inform regulatory strategy

+ Scientific insights to influence regulatory science strategy

+ Project management across multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders

+ Providing insight into scientific study design and data interpretation across a variety of social and behavioral scientific disciplines
+ Establishing cross-functional collaborations across internal and external stakeholders
+ Regulatory writing and scientific and regulatory engagement through publications, conference presentations, and external collaborations

**What are we looking for?**

+ Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) inepidemiology, biostatistics, public health, health economics or other relevant discipline
+ Proficiency in statistical and programming languages like R, SAS, Python
+ Minimum of 5 years relevant scientific experience resulting in a thorough knowledge of concepts, principles and strategic relevance.Demonstrated proficiency in Monte Carlo simulation techniques and Bayesian statistical methods to support regulatory research is considered beneficial.
+ Experience working in a regulated industry, such as tobacco/nicotine, pharmaceutical, and/or medical device
+ Demonstrated ability to manage and execute multiple projects
+ Strong organizational, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with other functions within (and external to) the company
+ Excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication skills
+ Ability to conceive, plan and conduct work streams aligned with, and in support of, regulatory strategy
+ Strong ability to apply critical thinking and analytical skills to ambiguous or complex scientific challenges.
